Born and brought up in India. . Worked 22 years with Indian Air Force. Migrated to New Zealand in 2001. Worked 8 years as  Senior Medical Officer Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand. In 2008, moved to Canberra as  Senior Medical Officer (Aviation Health) at the  Civil Aviation Safety Authority, (CASA) (Australia). Appointed as Principal Medical Officer, CASA in 2009.

Teaching for last nearly 20 years. Associate Professor Bangalore University, and more recently Senior lecturer and Course Director (Aviation medicine) Otago University.

Special interest: Clinical Aviation Medicine, Spatial disorientation, Cockpit Resource Management
